1992 ford ranger losing oil pressure?

i just bought a 1992 ford ranger 2.9 v6 4x4....its got weak lifters and losing oil pressure...how would i go about fixing these problems?....new oil pump mabe? idk...plz help me out here,,,thanks for any of ur help
