Can I take prenatal vitamins if I'm not pregnant?

I'm 19 years old, and am currently on birth control but I have (to my dismay) fine hair that I am desperately trying to grow. I'm also pretty anemic and could use the vitamins towards health benefits, not just cosmetic! Thank you!
