I SCREWED UP...drive would no longer boot, and I took steps to fix it which screwed it up even more--pls HELP!?
Internal Seagate Barracuda. Corrupt command line interpreter prevented booting. Got my XP CD and hit R one screed too early (instead of repairing from the install, I selected the Recovery Console instead). I typed FIXBOOT and FIXMBR, and the drive disappeared altogether. I went back and typed FIXBOOT C: and now when I go to the install, I don't get the R option to repair through the install, it appears that if I continue, it will completely format the drive. I want to recover the drive if only long enough to copy the contents to a new 500 gb Barracuda. Any techheads out there, I would appreciate a hand!
