Do I have to shave for this?

I have a job interview with a restaurant next week, for a short order cook position. They took my resume off an online database, so they have never seen me. I have facial hair, a (usually) neatly-trimmed goatee. I don't like how I look without it, as I have a very thick neck, so my chin seems to disappear without it. The question is, can I have a job in food services with a goatee, or will I have to shave it off?
